I started my lacrosse journey in third grade when I picked up a stick, and it quickly became a passion of mine. Throughout my youth, I played for several club teams before ending with 3D Georgia. I attended Lanier High School, where I served as a two-sport captain for both the lacrosse and swim teams. At Lanier, I was honored to receive All-State recognition, was named County Positional Player of the Year, and received the County Leadership Award. After high school, I committed to Queens University of Charlotte but later transferred to Saint Leo University to continue playing lacrosse. Here, I've been fortunate to receive All-Conference honors, and I’m excited to keep pushing my limits and growing as an athlete.

Personal Statement

I want to be a mentor because I believe in the power of guidance and support to help others reach their full potential. Leadership has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve seen how meaningful it can be to uplift and inspire those around me. Playing in a newer lacrosse program during high school, I’ve experienced the importance of introducing the sport to young athletes and building a community that encourages growth, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Mentorship gives me the opportunity to pass on the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained throughout my journey. Ultimately, I hope to inspire the next generation to pursue their passions and strive for excellence both on and off the field.

I just completed my first year at colby on the lacrosse team. We made colby lacrosse history this year by making it to the NCAA tournament final fours for the first time ever. In high school at Pingree, I was a three sport varsity athlete playing lacrosse, ice hockey, and soccer. I was captain of both lacrosse and ice hockey my senior year. My pingree lacrosse team won our league (EIL) all 3 years (freshman year was canceled due of COVID). I was named All-NEPSAC Honorable mention, EIL All-Star, and Salem News All-Star honorable mention my senior year for lacrosse. I grew up playing lacrosse, starting at around 6 years old. I played every sport I possibly could, before I ultimately decided to play lacrosse in college going into my junior year in high school.

Personal Statement

I think there is a lack of awareness for athlete's mental health, when it actually has a huge impact on athlete performance. Confidence is key for playing to your best ability and it's so easy for an athlete to get in their head due to playing time, mistakes, injuries, and more. In high school I had a big knee injury which had a huge impact on me both during and after the injury. I didn't really have the mentorship to help me get back on my feet mentally. I want to be that person for someone. Even just having someone that you can talk to that understands your circumstances that isn't on your team or at your school is so helpful. You can confide in them and they can help you walk through solutions. I think I've faced a lot challenges with injuries, playing time, confidence, etc both in high school and college and I've learned how to find the fun in the sport I love even when it gets hard. I want to help other people find that fun, especially when the sports world has gotten more and more stressful and intense.

Personal Statement

I know firsthand the struggles that come with being a student-athlete chasing your own version of perfection. Through my high school career and first two years of college lacrosse, I've been fortunate to have incredibly strong support systems around me who genuinely believed in me. There have been countless moments where I found myself overthinking or doubting my abilities, and without the people in my corner pushing me to be the best version of myself, I wouldn't the person I am today. That experience taught me something equally important which is to believe in myself without seeking validation from others. The resilience it takes to be a student-athlete is real, and it's not something you should have to figure out alone. My goal is to help people recognize their own value and truly believe in themselves!

I want to be a mentor because I want younger athletes to feel like they have a safe space to talk about anything related to sports. I want to be someone they can relate to and connect with. In sports growing up, I was a shy kid when I was out of my comfort zone, often times struggled with confidence (for example joining laxachusetts in third grade coming from Braintree where not many other kids played lacrosse really & going to Thayer when I didn’t know anyone at first). That was not always easy, as I didn’t really have anyone I could really go to for advice. As I grew older, I made so many connections and friends, and lacrosse became the thing I looked forward to the most and I fell in love with the game because of how much fun I began to have. Long story short, I want to be there for a younger kid who may just need a little guidance or encouragement along their journey because something little like that can really go a long way and could positively impact a kid.

It was there that I realized I wanted to pursue collegiate lacrosse. I then committed to Columbia University in 2023, where I am now currently a freshman!

Personal Statement

Amongst the many challenges of being a student-athlete, injuries have posed the greatest obstacle for me. I've had 3 surgeries in the past 5 years (and I've also broken my thumb!), so I've definitely experienced what "setback" feels like as an athlete, and how difficult it is to develop confidence when returning to play. The first time I tore my ACL was in 8th grade, and although my friends, family, and teammates were undeniably supportive, I felt so isolated in my recovery. For me, being a mentor would grant me the opportunity to be the person that I needed as an 8th grader -- someone to relate to, someone to confide in, and someone who has been there before. Of course, despite the unfortunate circumstances, my injuries have also been a tool for me; they've allowed me to explore ways to improve my mental game and develop the mental strength that recovery takes. For this reason, I believe that being a mentor would allow me to impart the knowledge and experience I have, whether that be navigating college recruiting, setbacks and injuries, or multiple sports, onto other budding student athletes. Thank you!

Starting my skill development later than others made the recruiting process discouraging at times, but my mentors helped me focus on my strengths and trust my abilities. I’m incredibly grateful for their support and mentorship. I am entering my third season with Bowdoin Women’s Lacrosse and am excited to step into a new leadership role that prioritizes on and off-field growth and wellness. I’m eager to join ABT as a mentor - wanting to pay it forward. We all have areas that push us to grow and strengths to build on and, above all, players need to remember they are so much more than their athletic achievements.

I have played soccer and lacrosse for my whole life, but decided to stop playing club soccer in 7th grade and shift to focusing on lacrosse so I joined 3D New England, and played all through high school. I also played soccer and lacrosse for four years at Pingree high school where I had amazing coaching and played with so many incredible players. I committed to play lacrosse at Hobart and William Smith my junior year in February, where I am going to be a sophomore this coming fall!

Personal Statement

I want to be able to talk through and guide young girls through the mental and physical challenges of the recruiting process and more. It’s incredibly hard and I feel as though so many girls could use a person to talk too and help them find their perfect place. It’s also hard to be honest with yourself and that is another place, as a mentor, I could help guide these girls. I went through many ups and downs throughout mine and learned about a lot of schools and programs that I can now share with girls who need some support and guidance.

I grew up a multi-sport athlete, playing lacrosse, soccer, and basketball (I also played flag football as a kid). With previous collegiate-athlete parents that also coached me, I learned quickly the how important sports are! In high school, I finished my basketball career as a 1000-point scorer, Captain, 6-year Varsity letter winner and multiple county/conference honors. As a lacrosse player, I scored over 100 goals and ended my career with 181 points, averaging just under 6 points/game my senior season. I was also named offensive MVP for 3 consecutive years with multiple all county/conference accolades. I committed to Howard University in the fall of my Senior year, earning a scholarship! And now I’m a division 1 women’s lacrosse player studying psychology with goals to propel the HU women’s lacrosse program forward and help to build the sport of lacrosse.

Personal Statement

I’m a proud older sister and providing guidance or support in any way I can is a core belief of mine.Sports have taught me so much about myself and life in general and being able to share some of the things I’ve learned is an amazing oppourtunity. I have experiences with anxiety, impostor syndrome, performance anxiety, moving states, playing multiple sports, attending boarding school and more that I hope can help others during their journeys. I am very grateful to be where I am toady and without strong mentors in my parents and others, I wouldn’t have the confidence to show up, compete, and be me. To me, ABT is an opportunity to pay it forward. Also, as a psychology major on a pre-medicine track, the program’s core value and understanding of mental health is a cause near and dear to me, so engaing in the progress of mental health in sports is just everything.

I started playing lacrosse on a team in the second grade, but have been playing pick up in my backyard with my three siblings since they could walk. Since then, I have fallen in love with the game and could not be more grateful for the lessons it has taught me – especially in leadership and resilience. I had my sights set on playing DIII at a NESCAC school from a young age, aware of the way student athletes can balance rigorous academics with high level athletic competition. A tremendous amount of support from club coaches and my parents allowed me to pursue a career in college lacrosse while having not played a full season of high school lacrosse prior to senior year – in part due to academic opportunities.

Personal Statement

I would not be part of the amazing team that I am now without the support of role models and mentors in my life. I was lucky to have parents well equipped to have the "hard conversations" that facilitated the recruiting process of my lacrosse journey, but know that is a rarity for most athletes. I would like to be a mentor to pay it forward in every way possible to aspiring student athletes to help them navigate their ambitions and accomplish their goals on and off the field.

After growing up with my whole life revolving around lacrosse I began experiencing burnout through my middle school years. After the break from COVID-19 I was able to regain my passion for lacrosse through a great support system at St. John’s Prep. I still didn’t think college lacrosse was for me but decided to give recruiting a try very late in the process in July going into my senior year. After attending a few prospect days in late July and August I ended up falling in love with Wesleyan due to the high academic standard as well as the camaraderie and character of the team. Now, I am in my second year at Wesleyan and I appreciate every moment on and off the field with my teammates.

Today, I am proud to continue my athletic journey as a collegiate lacrosse player at Tufts University, where I am thrilled to represent my team and further pursue my love for the game.

Personal Statement

I want to be a mentor because I believe it’s important for young student-athletes to recognize that their goals are within reach and that they are capable of achieving them. During my own high school years, I balanced the challenges of athletic recruiting, multiple sports, academics, and maintaining a social life. Looking back, I realize how valuable it would have been to have a mentor to help navigate those demanding times. Now, in my current position, I hope to offer that same guidance and support, to help student-athletes understand that their ambitions are attainable, and that success is often closer than they think.

Personal Statement

Growing up in a small town in northern Vermont, lacrosse is not a popular sport. Because of this, the road to success is very challenging and different from most other kids coming from other places where athletics is a priority. I’ve faced numerous challenges, such as overcoming stereotypes, self-comparisons to others, and simply holding onto my love for the game and wanting to develop as a player. My goal in becoming a mentor is to learn from the other mentors in the program and help others who may be facing similar hardships in any way possible.

Although I am now a college lacrosse player, when I was younger I was a international level figure skater for 13 years. This happened right before the beginning of COVID, so I knew something needed to happen if I wanted to continue playing.
