Athlete Bio

I competed level 10 in my senior year of high school with my club apex athletics. I then got recruited to college to compete at the division III level. I started my collegiate career at Utica University and then transferred to Springfield College. I was selected to represent team USA at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in summer 2025 but they have since been postponed and will be happening in summer of 2026!

Personal Statement

Hi! I'm Abby and I am a Sophomore on the Springfield College Women's gymnastics team! I am currently studying Health Science with a minor in Biology and Nutrition. After undergrad I plan to apply to PA schools to become a Physicians Assistant! My career in gymnastics started when I was just three years old. Even from a young age, I have always showed how badly I wanted to continue to get better each and every day. I continued to have that driven personality throughout my career which has helped get me through many tough moments! I underwent four elbow surgeries to repair damage from an injury so that I could use my arm in gymnastics again! I had a successful freshman season and can't wait to continue competing at the collegiate level!

I was born into a soccer family, both of my parents played Collegiate soccer in the NCAA, because of this I’ve been playing since I could walk. I played at 3 different clubs throughout my middle school and high school career, then I went through the recruitment process and committed to play NCAA division 2 soccer at Western Colorado University.

Personal Statement

I want to be a mentor because I know what it’s like to be a youth player with big aspirations. I got to watch my older brother go through the recruitment process and had the help of my parents, so I want to help youth players in any way possible to obtain their athletic and mental goals. I have had 3 hip surgeries, and issues with my ankle, hamstring, quad, shin, you name it. I have am also passionate about mental health and truly believe that sports performance can only peak when your mind is strong. Through those trying times I learned how to go through it and come out of it a better person and player, and I hope to help youth players to do the same!

I was on Ball State’s Gymnastics team for 4 years from 2022-2026! As a team we made it to NCAA regionals and were regular season champions during my first two years. I trained in all four events, but I competed floor and vault. Personal best on floor 9.9 and personal best on vault 9.75. Accomplishments that I am very proud of.

Personal Statement

Hi!! I’m Alauna! I have participated in competitive and club gymnastics since I was 6 years old. I stuck with it through the hard days, the injuries, the mental blocks, and the great days to end up at Ball State University and competing at the Division 1 level! It was totally worth every ounce of work and sacrifice, from the friendships, successes, losses, and most importantly the lessons learned. I have a loving and caring heart and love helping others. This is an amazing opportunity where I can share my stories, experiences, and lessons to help young athletes overcome obstacles, accomplish their dreams, and teach them lessons that will not only will help them win athletically but also be a better person outside of the athletic arena.

Personal Statement

I think that student-athletes face a lot of pressure from school, sports, social life, moving etc. and can benefit from every support they can get on their way. Especially as an international student, there a lot of changes at once and the most you can learn of how to deal best with things is by talking to peers who have been in the same situation. Therefore, I think it would have been very useful for myself to have this connection, mentor and friend by your side. After experiencing 3 years at Harvard and an ACL injury, I would like to make the best out of my experience and help someone younger who will soon or maybe already face similar challenges.

I started my lacrosse journey in third grade when I picked up a stick, and it quickly became a passion of mine. Throughout my youth, I played for several club teams before ending with 3D Georgia. I attended Lanier High School, where I served as a two-sport captain for both the lacrosse and swim teams. At Lanier, I was honored to receive All-State recognition, was named County Positional Player of the Year, and received the County Leadership Award. After high school, I committed to Queens University of Charlotte but later transferred to Saint Leo University to continue playing lacrosse. Here, I've been fortunate to receive All-Conference honors, and I’m excited to keep pushing my limits and growing as an athlete.

Personal Statement

I want to be a mentor because I believe in the power of guidance and support to help others reach their full potential. Leadership has always been a passion of mine, and I’ve seen how meaningful it can be to uplift and inspire those around me. Playing in a newer lacrosse program during high school, I’ve experienced the importance of introducing the sport to young athletes and building a community that encourages growth, confidence, and a sense of belonging. Mentorship gives me the opportunity to pass on the knowledge and experiences I’ve gained throughout my journey. Ultimately, I hope to inspire the next generation to pursue their passions and strive for excellence both on and off the field.

I just completed my first year at colby on the lacrosse team. We made colby lacrosse history this year by making it to the NCAA tournament final fours for the first time ever. In high school at Pingree, I was a three sport varsity athlete playing lacrosse, ice hockey, and soccer. I was captain of both lacrosse and ice hockey my senior year. My pingree lacrosse team won our league (EIL) all 3 years (freshman year was canceled due of COVID). I was named All-NEPSAC Honorable mention, EIL All-Star, and Salem News All-Star honorable mention my senior year for lacrosse. I grew up playing lacrosse, starting at around 6 years old. I played every sport I possibly could, before I ultimately decided to play lacrosse in college going into my junior year in high school.

Personal Statement

I think there is a lack of awareness for athlete's mental health, when it actually has a huge impact on athlete performance. Confidence is key for playing to your best ability and it's so easy for an athlete to get in their head due to playing time, mistakes, injuries, and more. In high school I had a big knee injury which had a huge impact on me both during and after the injury. I didn't really have the mentorship to help me get back on my feet mentally. I want to be that person for someone. Even just having someone that you can talk to that understands your circumstances that isn't on your team or at your school is so helpful. You can confide in them and they can help you walk through solutions. I think I've faced a lot challenges with injuries, playing time, confidence, etc both in high school and college and I've learned how to find the fun in the sport I love even when it gets hard. I want to help other people find that fun, especially when the sports world has gotten more and more stressful and intense.

Growing up, I played every sport I could and eventually focused more on lacrosse and ice hockey. I was often on multiple teams at a time and had to learn how to manage that schedule at a young age. After I decided to focus on hockey, I transferred high schools where I was able to leave early to train, which taught me how to balance school and athletics while continuing to excel in both. Mental health has always been a topic I am passionate about because I have struggled juggling all the challenges life has to offer while remaining steady on the ice and I know every other student athlete has struggles with this as well. My experiences will allow me to offer help to younger athletes who need guidance on the academic and athletic aspects while making their mental health a priority.

I started playing basketball in the 5th grade, and ever since then I haven't stopped! My love for basketball grows every time I step on the court because it allows for me to take a step away from "reality" and focus my attention on putting the ball in the hoop. My senior year of high school I was one of the team captains on the varsity team led the team to a 2nd place district win (the highest Rockwall girls basketball has been for 5+ years). I also led my team in most made 3pt made, and percentage. I led the team in assist to turnover ratio, and was awarded Academic All District (2x). 2nd team All District, and the Team First award. At Ozarks I took a step back in more of a team player role, but that allowed me to be named to the Dean's list for my first two academic semesters at the University!

Personal Statement

I want to be a mentor because I want to be able to give mentee's good and solid advice on how an athletic journey can be impactful not only on the court or field but in your everyday life. Adversity plays a big part in sports, and being able to be mentally tough in a sport can also prepare you for a lifetime of skills that will open up when you finally hang up those shoes. Being a mentor also allows for the younger generation to hear our experiences, and with those guide them in the best way possible as their sport journey continues on!

Personal Statement

I know firsthand the struggles that come with being a student-athlete chasing your own version of perfection. Through my high school career and first two years of college lacrosse, I've been fortunate to have incredibly strong support systems around me who genuinely believed in me. There have been countless moments where I found myself overthinking or doubting my abilities, and without the people in my corner pushing me to be the best version of myself, I wouldn't the person I am today. That experience taught me something equally important which is to believe in myself without seeking validation from others. The resilience it takes to be a student-athlete is real, and it's not something you should have to figure out alone. My goal is to help people recognize their own value and truly believe in themselves!

That was not always easy, as I didn’t really have anyone I could really go to for advice. As I grew older, I made so many connections and friends, and lacrosse became the thing I looked forward to the most and I fell in love with the game because of how much fun I began to have. Personal Statement

Amongst the many challenges of being a student-athlete, injuries have posed the greatest obstacle for me. I've had 3 surgeries in the past 5 years (and I've also broken my thumb!), so I've definitely experienced what "setback" feels like as an athlete, and how difficult it is to develop confidence when returning to play. The first time I tore my ACL was in 8th grade, and although my friends, family, and teammates were undeniably supportive, I felt so isolated in my recovery. For me, being a mentor would grant me the opportunity to be the person that I needed as an 8th grader -- someone to relate to, someone to confide in, and someone who has been there before. Of course, despite the unfortunate circumstances, my injuries have also been a tool for me; they've allowed me to explore ways to improve my mental game and develop the mental strength that recovery takes. For this reason, I believe that being a mentor would allow me to impart the knowledge and experience I have, whether that be navigating college recruiting, setbacks and injuries, or multiple sports, onto other budding student athletes. Thank you!

Athlete Bio

I began playing sports at a young age and quickly developed a deep passion for athletics. Throughout my childhood and high school years, I competed at a high level in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Lacrosse, in particular, became my primary focus. I have played at a highly competitive club level since fourth grade, dedicating myself to constant improvement. Today, I am proud to continue my athletic journey as a collegiate lacrosse player at Tufts University, where I am thrilled to represent my team and further pursue my love for the game.

Personal Statement

I want to be a mentor because I believe it’s important for young student-athletes to recognize that their goals are within reach and that they are capable of achieving them. During my own high school years, I balanced the challenges of athletic recruiting, multiple sports, academics, and maintaining a social life. Looking back, I realize how valuable it would have been to have a mentor to help navigate those demanding times. Now, in my current position, I hope to offer that same guidance and support, to help student-athletes understand that their ambitions are attainable, and that success is often closer than they think.

Personal Statement

Being a mentor is important to me because it is so special to connect with younger athletes that may be going through the same things I did. It would have been so helpful to have an outlet to connect with when I was deciding where to go to school and during my recruiting process. It is also so important to be heard and understood through that time. I hope to be a help to any young athlete through building a connection through shared experiences!

Personal Statement

Hi! My name is Morgan Smith, and I’m from Westford, MA. I grew up in a family of golfers, which made it easy for me to fall in love with the game—what started as something we did together quickly grew into a true passion of mine. As the oldest of three girls, I was the first in my family to go through the recruiting process. While it was an exciting experience, it was also overwhelming at times because everything was so new for us. I often wished I had someone who had already been through it to help break it all down and make it easier to understand. My hope now is to be that person for someone else—offering guidance, clarity, and support throughout the process—just like I’ve always tried to do for my younger sisters.

Athlete Bio

I am a 3-star recruit (Inside Lacrosse) committed to Bryant University to play lacrosse. As a true freshman and sophomore at my hometown high school, I had 155 caused turnovers, 165 ground balls, and 17 points. I came to Holderness and repeated my sophomore year and started. In my second season at Holderness as a junior, I am now the number one cover defender for our team.

Personal Statement

Growing up in a small town in northern Vermont, lacrosse is not a popular sport. Because of this, the road to success is very challenging and different from most other kids coming from other places where athletics is a priority. I’ve faced numerous challenges, such as overcoming stereotypes, self-comparisons to others, and simply holding onto my love for the game and wanting to develop as a player. My goal in becoming a mentor is to learn from the other mentors in the program and help others who may be facing similar hardships in any way possible.

I began rowing competitively in my Sophomore year of high school at historically successful program in Deerfield Academy. After graduating a very strong senior class from the covid canceled freshman season, I was thrown into the top boat as a novice and we lost almost every race. The next year, the whole boat returned and we went undefeated, winning the national championship. My senior year was supposed to be the cherry on top of a perfect junior season as we were supposed to be even faster, however, we had an injury filled and underwhelming season. My freshman year at Princeton, I got injured again in the fall and underwent wrist surgery and was sidelined for three months. After a long and difficult road to recovery, I ended up having the best season of my career to date as I stroked the 3v to an Ivy League Championship and a silver medal at the National Championship. This past year, I got injured for a third year in a row, tearing a muscle in my back and was sidelined for 5 months, after losing a whole year of continuous fitness training once again and only being cleared for cardio as the spring season began, I had to spend the season in the lower boats as I was not fit enough to compete at the standard of the top boats.

Personal Statement

As is the nature of rowing, amplified by my personal experience, I have experienced the highest highs and feelings of triumph, as well as the helpless feeling of watching go through a season without being able to help. I have been in boats that seem like they will win no matter what with unimaginable levels of trust and camaraderie and I have also been in boats that arrive to the start line knowing there is no chance of victory. These experiences give me a very valuable perspective on the true goals and struggles of youth rowing that I would love to share with athletes like me looking to compete at a high level but still maintain there love for what is an inherently painful and often miserable activity that allows its participants to experience unmatched euphoria in victory. In a sport like this it is important to stay level headed and keep a static perspective on what the goals are because it can really tear people down sometimes and it is invaluable to have somebody to talk to help one's competitive drive and pressure consume them in a positive way.

Athlete Bio

My athletic journey has been shaped by those around me. Both my parents, and my three siblings, played college athletics so they became an amazing resource for me throughout my recruiting process. I landed on Hamilton College where I am currently going into my junior year on the team. I am excited to give back to younger athletes and share some of the wisdom and support I have received throughout the highs and lows of my career.

Personal Statement

It's really important to me to be able to give support to student athletes because of the unique struggles that come along with playing sports at a high level. I would not be the person or player I am today without those who stood behind me and helped me achieve what I have. Every athlete has their own path and experience, I want to be there to help along the way.

Growing up, I was always very involved in sports—from soccer and field hockey to golf, and eventually, lacrosse. I instantly fell in love with the fast-paced environment and loved how every game was energetic and exciting. I knew early on that I wanted to take it as far as I could. As I progressed through my lacrosse career, I learned so many valuable lessons about teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.

Personal Statement

Growing up playing a variety of sports and competing in lacrosse at the collegiate level has taught me a lot about myself and the environment around me. Like any sport, there are ups and downs, and they can be tough to navigate without support from someone who’s been in your shoes. Becoming a mentor gives me the opportunity to give back to the athletic community and support younger athletes as they move through the ever-changing landscape we're all a part of.
